Saltmarsh Survey & Restoration Project: Volunteers Wanted

Interested in getting involved in saltmarsh monitoring and restoration at Loch Aline?

CAOLAS, in partnership with Ardtornish Estate through the NRF-funded Tìr Àlainn na Mara project, is looking for volunteers interested in taking part in an upcoming Saltmarsh Survey and Restoration Project at Lochaline.

The survey is planned for spring/summer 2027, and we would love to involve as many trained volunteers as possible in helping us understand and monitor this important coastal habitat.

Ahead of the survey, we plan to organise volunteer training opportunities, giving participants the chance to learn more about saltmarsh habitats, the monitoring methods we will be using, and how they can contribute to the project.

Register your interest

At this stage, dates for the training and survey have not yet been confirmed. We are currently looking to find out how many people would be interested in taking part. Once we have an idea of numbers, we can begin planning the training sessions and survey activities.

If you would like to get involved, please contact admin@caolas.org to register your interest.

We’ll keep interested volunteers updated as the training and survey plans develop.
