Carna Hope Week
Carna Hope Week is a residential environmental programme led by Carna Communities & Conservation, based on the Isle of Carna within the Loch Sunart to the Sound of Jura Marine Protected Area. The week-long experience brings together local secondary school pupils (S4–S6) for immersive, hands-on learning in marine and terrestrial conservation, emerging nature-based industries, and community stewardship. Designed to address eco-anxiety by creating hope through action, the programme equips young people with practical skills, exposure to environmental careers, and a deeper connection to their local natural heritage. CAOLAS collaborates by supporting marine education activities and contributing to local engagement within the wider Argyll Coast and Islands Hope Spot network.
